Farm Custodian Job Description:
A Farm/Office custodian plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within a farming facility. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, which contributes to a productive and efficient work environment. Here is a detailed job description for a manufacturing custodian.
Under the direct supervision of the Reliability Manager, the Custodian is responsible for following routine farm tasks according to AeroFarms’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas (including the Farm).
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly (including the Farm).
- Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring it is free from dirt and debris (including the Farm.
- Keep workstations, offices, and hallways clean and organized.
- Working the Farm cleaning up standing water and other requested needed.
- Safety Maintenance:
- Identify and report any safety hazards or potential risks to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness in hazardous areas, such as chemical storage areas.
- Monitor and restock safety supplies, such as gloves, masks, and cleaning agents.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when restocking is required.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning supplies used and report any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply of cleaning materials.
You Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak basic English (required)
- General work experience will be considered in place of manufacturing experience. AeroFarms training provided.
- Be able to work in a cold environment (<38F) for long periods.
- Availability to work one weekend day: Saturday or Sunday.
- Ability to respect and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up 75lbs.
Wage: $17.00/HR., paid weekly (Benefits eligible effective 1st day of employment)
Shift: Day
Required: Must Work four days during the week between Monday ‐ Friday and one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday.
